Our experience
I’m a cheap ass at heart. Always have been, always will be. So naturally, whenever I see buzzwords like Wagyu, premium, or luxury slapped onto a menu, my skepticism kicks in. I’ve seen enough restaurants charge extra for fancy names without delivering anything special.
Now, I’m also far from a picky eater. I’ll eat just about anything that lands on my plate. But just because I’ll eat it doesn’t mean I’m going to pretend it’s good.
With that said, 888 Sushi & Robata absolutely blew me away.
Located at 5865 W Spring Mountain Road, Suite 140, Las Vegas, NV 89146, this spot is relatively small, but don’t let its size fool you. The interior has character, the decor feels intentional, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance between casual dining and somewhere you’d actually want to take someone on a date.
After getting seated, we were presented with three all-you-can-eat options:
Menu A — $28: Standard
Menu B — $38: Premium
Menu C — $48: Signature
Normally, my cheap instincts would’ve kicked in somewhere around Menu A. Maybe B if I was feeling generous.
But that night? I wasn’t in the mood to stare at a menu wondering what I couldn’t order.
So I said, “Fuck it. We’re going all out tonight.”
Menu C it was.
Forty-eight dollars per person. No playing it safe, no settling for the cheaper options. If I was going to find out whether all this premium Wagyu hype was actually worth the money, I might as well do it properly.
And let me tell you, I was not prepared for what came next.
What we tried
What We Tried: Getting Our $48 Worth
If I’m paying $48 per person for all-you-can-eat sushi, you better believe I’m getting my money’s worth.
Menu C comes with a few restrictions. Some of the premium items are limited to one order per person, which is understandable. But we weren’t about to pay for the most expensive menu and leave without trying everything it had to offer.
